Khem Birch Allows Pittsburgh to Continue Big East Dominance

Posted by CoHoops DeAnte Mitchell
On a day that was overshadowed by Austin Rivers’ commitment to Duke, came another big recruiting announcement.

Khem Birch, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Notre Dame Prep High School verbally committed to the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Birch is a very good athlete that is possibly one of the top players in the country right now. His length and athleticism sets him apart from the other players in his recruiting class. He blocks shots and rebounds better than anyone in the country right now.

He will bring that to a physical-known program and tough coach in Jamie Dixon.

Birch is the second player to commit in the 2012 class for Coach Dixon and the Panthers. He joins another physical post presence in Steven Adams who is 7-foot, 230 pounds.

With both of these players Coach Dixon will have the chance to embrace one of the best frontcourts in the Big East.

Not to mention, remember what happened with Aaron Gray the last lengthy frontier athlete Coach Dixon embraced. He can curb both of these players and turn them into the players they should be.
