2011 PF Christian Kirk Commits to Missouri State

Posted by CoHoops Paul Seaver

Cuonzo Martin and Missouri State have received the verbal commitment of 6-foot-7 power forward Christian Kirk.

The Bears have made the NIT tournament four times in the past decade, however have not made the NCAA Tournament since 1999. After winning 24 games a season ago, Missouri State looks to continue to move forward and end their NCAA Tournament drought.

The commitment of Kirk is a good step in doing so.

An in-state prospect, Kirk is rated as the 58th best power forward in the class of 2011, according to ESPNU. The 6-foot-7, 195 pound, big man certainly will be a solid addition for the Bears in the coming years.

Christian Kirk's decision to go with Missouri State was one that was made over the likes of Butler, Southern Illinois, and St. Louis, among attention, but no offers from some Big Ten and Big 12 schools.

Kirk is the first commitment to Martin's class of 2011 at Missouri State.
