The Duke Blue Devils 2010 class featured one of the best guards in Kyrie Irving. In the 2011 recruiting class, the Blue Devils were after the top guard in this class as well.
Austin Rivers was spotted sporting Duke wear back when the U-17 Team won the gold medal. His father Doc Rivers said don't believe in the hype, and that he wears a lot of different things.
Nonetheless, Rivers decided Wednesday night that the Duke Blue Devils was the best program for him.
Rivers chose Duke over Kansas, and North Carolina. The thing he liked about Duke is the "freedom" that comes with being a Blue Devil guard.
This commitment means a lot for the Blue Devil program. They have acquired the best guards in both of the last recruiting circuits, but this commitment could also mean Kyrie Irving is one-and-done.
Rivers joins an already stacked 2011 recruiting class that features Michael Gbinije, Marshall Plumlee and Tyler Adams.
