Cream of the Crop: Top Three Floor Generals in the 2011 Recruiting Class

The 2011 recruiting class has to be one of the best I've seen in a while. 

Their are a lot of teams out their with tricky point guard situations that could be after a player on this list.

There's a lot of point guards in the 2011 recruiting class that will be an instant spark to a college backcourt.

That also shows you how good the point guards are in this class. Here are the top-3 point guards in the 2011 recruiting class.

3. Tony Wroten Jr.

Garfield HS 6-foot-4

As soon as you see Tony Wroten Jr. play, you'll automatically assume he is a shooting guard.

But once you start watching him a lot, you notice that he is more of a point guard.

Wroten is a big time scoring threat from the point guard position. At 6-foot-4 he displays amazing leaping ability. He likes putting players on posters rather than laying the ball up. That can be a plus but also a negative; depending on how you take it.

He also has the ability to shoot lights out in mid-range.

He has the vision and passing skills to be a point guard. 

But the best thing about his game is his strength. He was also a football player in high school and from my understanding he was pretty darn good.

He brings a lot to the backcourt. That's why he is a highly-touted recruit.

2. Myck Kabongo

St. Benedict Prep 6-foot-2

Myck Kabongo has the ability to challenge Teague as the best point guard in the 2011 recruiting class. 

Kabongo is the most complete point guard in the class, however, he can't be the best because of his lack of explosiveness.

A year ago, he was the youngest player on the Canadian national team. Because of that, he was able to show off his complete point guard skills.

Kabongo has the ability to send defenders to the floor with nifty crossover moves. 

He also has the ability to pass the ball proficiently and score the basketball inside-out.

Kabongo is a great prospect but he does too much dribbling in the half court. He still has time to improve and don't be surprised if he leaps ahead of Teague when it's all said and done.

1. Marquis Teague

Pike HS 6-foot-1 

Marquis Teague the younger brother of current NBA player, Jeff Teague has turned many heads this past year.

Teague is going in the arms of Coach Calipari and we know how he turns guards out.

Teague is a complete floor-general that likes to run the floor and make key plays on offense.

He is a big-time scoring point guard with the ability to finish strong around the rim. I witnessed countless players on a Teague poster. 

He displays elite ball-handling skills that he uses to crossover defenders easily.

He hits jump-shots from deep consistently and in the mid-range,

From the point guard position Teague brings scoring, defense, intensity and the ability to create for others on offense.
