2011 College Basketball Recruiting Report: North Carolina

Posted by CoHoops DeAnte Mitchell
The Tar Heels has the best player from the 2010 recruiting class on their roster. Next season, he may be done.

So, the future recruits are starting to show more importance. The Tar Heels lack true depth in the frontcourt and will need more firepower on the wing.

So far, here is what the Tar Heels have done thus far with the 2011 recruiting class.

Verbal Commitments:

F - James McAdoo 6'8''
McAdoo will most likely be a McDonalds All-American after this season. He is really the total package. Want to talk about a forward that can run in transition, make plays, clean-up with put-backs, shoot jumpers, and defend on the inside? Then let's talk about James McAdoo

G - P.J. Hairston 6'6''
Hairston could play on the wing if he wanted to, but playing at the two will create match-up problems. He already has the size advantage over most two-guards, and his explosive leaping ability helps that out a lot. Hairston isn't McDonald's All-American talent, but he can prove me wrong with his work ethic and willingness to get better.

Considering:

G - Austin Rivers
He was sporting Duke wear like that's where he was headed. His father said, don't buy it but I think he is Duke bound.

*F - Cody Zeller
UNC just offered Zeller a scholarship not too long ago. Playing time looks like it's going to play a major factor in his decision. However, with the way 'Heels frontcourt is looking right now, Zeller will be at North Carolina after this year.

*G - Everett Golson
Golson is also considered as one of the better quarterbacks in the 2011 class. He has great vision--obviously--and the ability to lead a team to victory. He initially committed to the UNC football program but the basketball program isn't out of site.
