College Basketball: Scoping Out The 2010-11 Season: How Will Your Favorite Team Do?

The College Basketball season has been over for some time now and I'm already looking ahead and speculating how next season might unfold.  

The College Basketball season has ended with the Duke Blue Devils on top, and that's exactly how it will begin next season. Duke is still the favorite to win it all, and even more so when you look at the acquisitions they made this off-season. 

The Michigan State Spartans are going to have their star Kalin Lucas back from injury and it'll be interesting to see how he handles that. Considering that Michigan State almost won a title without the services of Lucas also has to open eyes.  

Ohio State has lost the No. 1 overall player in the college game and to make up for that they brought in one of the biggest recruiting classes this year. 

You also have to look at teams like Kansas State. They had a great season last year; off the charts considering their history. Now they return all their roster except for guards Denis Clemente, Chris Merriwether, and center Luis Colon. They have a legitimate chance to become one of the dominating teams this season. 

However, for the Butler Bulldogs, the runner-up, they lost their superstar Gordon Hayward. I can most definitely say they will not be the same team next year. They still do have Shelvin Mack, Matt Howard and other players from the National Championship team and could surprise us once again. 

Now to the team that will most likely reach No. 1 next season, the Purdue Boilermakers.  

Purdue loss guards Chris Kramer and Keaton Grant. Not too big losses but Kramer was their top defensive specialist. However, Purdue returned Robbie Hummel, JaJuan Johnson and E'twaun Moore. Will we be looking at another big three? Possibly. 

The Boilemakers faced that crucial injury to Robbie Hummel right before the NCAA tournament. That turned out to be everything but okay and Purdue was bounced early. 

I look for Purdue, Michigan State and Duke to be what Kentucky, Duke and Kansas gave us last year; consistent basketball. Their continued success all depends on how well they develop this off-season. If these three teams come together, make huge contributions and bond as one, then they should be ready to make a big impact next season.
