Savon Goodman Next to UCLA?

Yesterday, Tony Parker, a 2012 Miller Grove (GA) center, announced his commitment to UCLA at a press conference held at his high school. He chose UCLA over Georgia, Kansas, Ohio State and Duke.

Parker joined Shabazz Muhammad, Kyle Anderson and Jordan Adams to help UCLA acquire the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation by ESPN and No. 2 by both Rivals and Scout.

Following the commitment of Parker, UCLA commit Anderson took to Twitter to express his joy of the commitment and also mentioned who else he wanted to team up with as a future Bruin.

Kyle Anderson Commits to UCLA

Kyle Anderson (St. Anthony, NJ) said a while back that he'd know his decision on September 19 and he didn't go back on his word. The 6-7 point-forward opted to select UCLA, over hometown favorite Seton Hall, Georgetown, St. Johns and Florida.

Anderson joins a three man class that features top-100 players Jordan Adams and Dominic Artis.

He has always been a point guard despite his lengthy frame and will have the chance to play in the backcourt with the Bruins despite already having one of the best point guards in the class headed to UCLA.

"Coach Howland said that I will be fighting for the point guard spot," he told Alex Kline of the Recruit Scoop. "As long as I'm on the court, I'll be good."

The Bruins aren't done with their 2012 class. UCLA is still in good standing with Shabazz Muhammad, the No. 1 recruit in the nation, who everyone believes has a UCLA lean.

If Howland is able to acquire Muhammad, the Bruins will undoubtedly, have the best class in the nation.

Eron Harris Gaining Steam

It has been an interesting road for Indianapolis shooting guard Eron Harris (Lawrence North HS, IN). I remember just about a year ago, Harris told me about receiving his first offer from Evansville.

He's far from the player he was a year ago. Last time that I checked in with Harris he had offers from Ball State, Evansville and Southern Illionis-Edwardsville.

Now, after his performance with Indiana Elite, he's finally getting the exposure he's worked so hard to gain.

Harris, a 2012 guard, has made a statement this July that he's definitely capable of playing at a high-level. He's scoring more consistently, he's grown a few inches and most importantly, his shot is more consistent than ever.

Just yesterday, Harris added three scholarship offers to his collection.  Buffalo, Dayton and Kent State all offered the talented off-guard.

Harris, who has mostly received looks from mid-majors, has garnered the attention of a high-major coach and is taking a strong look at the program.

Since his run with Indiana Elite, Harris picked up three offers, four if you want to include Tennessee Tech, and impressed coaches from New Mexico, Wisconsin and Xavier.

He's really made a case as to which school he's very interested in hearing more from. Since picking up interest from Wisconsin, Harris has made it clear that he's very interested in the program. He even went as far as saying that it's 'a dream to play in the Big Ten.'

Kyle Anderson to announce September 20th

Kyle Anderson is considered the number one point guard in the class of 2012 by many accounts and for obvious reasons. He has terrific size, a great feel and great game for a lead guard.

At 6-foot-8, most schools have tried hard to hit his recruiting trail and lure him to their respective programs. Earlier this summer, Anderson trimmed his list to five schools, so, you knew his decision would be coming soon.

Anderson announced through Twitter that he has set up an announcement date for September 20th. Florida, Georgetown, Seton Hall, St. Johns and UCLA are the schools still in the mix.

Last season, under Coach Wainright, the Blue Demons were the worst team in the Big East while riding a 20+ plus losing streak that dated back to season ago, and fans in Chicago ever wondered if things would change.

The DePaul Blue Demons under Coach Oliver Purnell should embrace a bright future. Coach Purnell has a series of turnaround seasons on his resume and could do the same for DePaul faster than expected. That is why he received the job as Head Coach.

He was a part of Old Dominions seven post seasons runs. We give credit to Purnell for turning around Radford and making them a 20-plus win team. Clemson and Dayton have also felt the Purnell effect.

The DePaul Blue Demons will feel it sooner or later. Coach Purnell has the opportunity to make one of the biggest acquisitions in the history of DePaul. This would transpire if Anthony Davis Jr. elected to accompany the Blue Demons in '11-12.

If that does not fall into place, the Blue Demons could acquire another newcomer in the 2012 class that could avail the turnaround causes. Kyle Anderson the 6-foot-7 guard-forward from St. Anthony High School has shown a lot of interest in DePaul.

While, in Chicago for an Adidas Nation Event, Anderson took an unofficial visit to the program.

Anderson enjoyed himself a lot, while catching up with old friends, as well. According to ESPN's Eric Angevine, Anderson seems remarkably enthusiastic about the Blue Demons program.

He has an exceptionally close relationship with Billy Garrett that dates back to when he first touched a basketball.

DePaul will be a suitable player in his recruiting trails. The 6-foot-7 forward connection with Garret and Brian Ellerbe could sway him away from questionable schools and favor DePaul.

The DePaul program is making a lot of strides towards bringing in elite talent. The Blue Demons will not be the Big East’s worst team any longer.

Is Kentucky Recruiting The Next Evan Turner?

Kentucky had a very successful season last year with the likes of John Wall, Eric Bledsoe and DeMarcus Cousins.

Now they enter another year where the five-star prospect will come-in.

It almost seems like their entering another year with the top recruiting class, thanks to head coach John Calipari.

But they will not have a John Wall type of guy. Unfortunately, the guy they're trying to bring in won't be there until the year of 2012.

Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats have their eye on  6'7" guard-forward Kyle Anderson.

According to ESPN.com, Anderson could be the next Evan Turner, who was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2010 NBA Draft.

Turner was the leader of the Ohio State Buckeyes run in the NCAA Tournament.

Anderson's eyes colleges like DePaul, Louisville, North Carolina, Syracuse, and of course, Kentucky.

But what makes him so much like Turner?

According to Zagsblog.com, Anderson was taught by his father to play the point guard position.

Though Anderson doesn’t have the speed like an average point guard, his height is an advantage and he has the ability to make nice passes that the other point guards can make.

"I think I've been able to score more, use my length to get buckets easier. I'm long so that's an advantage. I've stepped my game up my scoring," Anderson told Zagsblog.com.

Anderson plans to visit Kentucky in the fall.
