Nebraska Sophomore Christian Standhardinger Leaving the Program

Posted by CoHoops DeAnte Mitchell
The Nebraska Cornhuskers (8-2) Head Coach Doc Sadler said that 6-foot-8 Christian Standhardinger, from Munich Germany, has decided to leave the program.

Standhardinger averaged 9.5 points, and a team-high 5.5 rebounds in his six games of action this season.

Since being absent in the past four games due to an academic issue that has plagued his career early on the Huskers have accumulated a 4-0 record.

Standhardinger has had interest in playing pro ball overseas, but hasn't ruled out a possibility to transfer to another school.

Without Standhardinger, Nebraska is out one of their most proficient scorers and rebounders off the bench.

His career as a Cornhusker closes with Standhardinger averaging 8.4 points, 4.2 rebounds in 16 minutes of action.

Former LSU guard Bo Spencer Transferring to Nebraska

Posted by CoHoops Paul Seaver

After receiving the news that guard Bo Spencer was not up to par with his academics, LSU head coach Trent Johnson made the decision to dismiss Spencer early this month.

After only two short weeks since the decision, Spencer has found a new destination to continue his collegiate playing career.

That destination is Nebraska.

The Cornhuskers, who have accepted the offer to join the Big Ten, will look to turn around what has become a lackluster program over the course of the last decade or so. Nebraska has only made six NCAA Tournament appearances in school history and none since 1998.

The addition of Bo Spencer should be a good one for Nebraska and head coach Doc Sadler. Spencer will be eligible to play during the 2011-2012 season.

Spencer averaged 14.5 points per game last season as a junior at LSU.

The departure of Bo Spencer leaves LSU thin at the guard position, especially after the recent ineligibility of incoming freshman K.C Ross-Miller.
