Andrew Wiggins, the consensus No. 1 player regardless of class, has made a huge recruiting decision.
The former No.1 player in the class of 2014 is now on top in 2013 after reclassifying back to his original class. "Spoke to Andrew father Mitch. Both he and Andrew are comfortable with him reclassifying to 2013," his prep coach Rob Fulford posted to Twitter. "He wants to concentrate on school [and] season."
The news comes as no surprise. It has been hinted at for some time now that Wiggins could possibly reclass and the timing is perfect. As ZagsBlog reported, Wiggins is now eligible for the 2013 McDonald's All American game.
As for his recruitment, it will start to heat up. The 6-7 swing man has Kentucky and Florida State as the front runner, or at least that's what everyone conceives. North Carolina, Kansas, Ohio State and plenty more have started to recruit Wiggins.
It'll be interesting to see just how his recruitment pans out. He doesn't have a decision date and although everybody considers two to be the leader, Wiggins has never accepted that distinction.
Kentucky just added a wing in James Young but as Kentucky has proven, it can acquire and use two players at the same position. Look at John Wall, Eric Bledsoe or Terrence Jones, Kyle Wiltjer. Florida State also landed his friend and AAU teammate Xavier Rathan-Mayes. To make things better, his mother and father made their name at Florida State.
But don't count out any of the new schools. Kentucky and Florida State obviously in the picture but other programs have a great shot as well.
