2011 College Basketball Recruiting Report: Kentucky Wildcats

Posted by CoHoops DeAnte Mitchell
The Kentucky Wildcats has the most potent recruiter on their sideline. Yes, Mr. John Calipari is the best recruiter in college basketball.

Now, once he joined the coaching staff at Kentucky, five-star recruits followed him there. I don't think anything is different about this year.

Verbal Agreements:

F - Michael Gilchrist 6'7''

Gilchrist has verbally committed to playing for Coach Cal at Kentucky. He is Mr. Do it all on offense, and will help Kentucky out in his short stay.

G - Marquis Teague 6'2''

Teague thus far is considered the best point guard in the 2011 recruiting class. It's not much of an argument either. He does need to clean up his natural point guard ability, but the way he attacks the basket and get's his teammates involved, is a plus for Kentucky.

Considering:

*F - Quincy Miller
Miller has high-interest in Kentucky. If you google his name, he has a strong connection with a lot of former-Kentucky stars. Not just that, but he is in Kentucky gear as well.

*F - Lebryan Nash
Nash doesn't have a frontrunner, however, Kentucky is listed in his top five.

*F - Anthony Davis
Davis is pushing towards Kentucky. He has Kentucky as his frontrunner.

F - Angel Nunez
Nunez was very impressed with his visit to Syracuse. They are his frontrunner but don't count Kentucky out.

F - Darius Nelson
He is the brother of DeMarcus Nelson. He may just as well be at Duke.

*G - Trevor Lacey
Lacey is very interested in Kentucky. Once this year is over, I expect to see him in Blue-and-White.

*G - Tony Wroten Jr.
If you check Tony Wroten Jr's Twitter account, he stated that Kentucky was his frontrunner.

G - Quinn Cook
It's reported that Cook is pushing towards Duke. However, Kentucky isn't a long shot.

G - Ky Madden
Memphis Tiger bound?

G - Ryan Boatright
He did commit to USC initially, but opened up his recruiting. Boatright has no favorite right now, so he could go anywhere.

C - Amir Williams
Williams recieved an offer from Kentucky, but it doesn't seem like he will commit any time soon. He has offers from 19 total schools.

C - Michael Chandler
Louisville is his frontrunner. He actually committed and didn't decommit but his recruitment is still open.
